這是為了今天要在公開場合唱加拿大國歌的台灣移民現買現賣,我會在
以後修改.
不過你拿了一定可以開口,別人以為你是用英文唱的.

官方英文歌詞是從一首羅伯特?斯坦利?韋爾（Robert Stanley
Weir）法官的1908年詩，跟法文版有一點點相似，但是不是互相翻譯
。1968年，加拿大上下議院聯合委員會曾對英文官方版歌詞進行過修
改。
O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love, in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

We stand on guard for thee.

前兩行是一句，但是為了押韻（「land」和「command」），詞的順序

和一般的口語順序差別很多。

1980年的國歌法定把韋爾的原本詩中的「我們」（us ）改成「你的兒

子」，此外，增加一句關於神的歌詞。女權主義者，像利德蕙議員，
批評英文歌詞的「兒子」，支援原本的句子。但是這些推薦沒被聯邦
政府注重。
